She swam on a team in third grade back where we used to live and loved it, but when we moved here, the team I found was super-crowded and became the object of a huge part of her move-related anxiety and thus was dropped. I was oddly invested in her swim teamness, though I fear if she gets into it, it will be the hugest logistical hassle which I of course will have to shoulder alone...Beccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12002802440403969922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7040433617289684252.post-23029568904077257502007-09-15T10:59:00.000-04:002007-09-15T10:59:00.000-04:00I find being lane leader helps.;-) At least in my ...I find being lane leader helps.
;-)

At least in my educational experience, the gym teachers helped those most who had natural aptitude and/or who played on the teams they coached. (The swim team was not coached by a gym teacher.) Hopefully that's not true now ...Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07300094483282054900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7040433617289684252.post-90640337217886857412007-09-15T10:21:00.000-04:002007-09-15T10:21:00.000-04:00I feel that there must be lots of mental tricks pe...I feel that there must be lots of mental tricks people have for remembering them--I'm going to mull this over and see what might suit me...

It's funny, the last year or so I really feel like I am finally tackling the whole legacy of childhood awfulness at sports--I am annoyed in retrospect with gym teachers, as we have discussed before! How could they all have just let me straggle along being so bad at everything? I was a hard worker, I was a thoughtful learner, if someone had actually explained things to me and helped me think about how to get better I feel sure I would have been average rather than always, like, second-to-worst!Jenny Davidsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02295436498255927522noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7040433617289684252.post-6285752389659960702007-09-15T07:53:00.000-04:002007-09-15T07:53:00.000-04:00I have to log my workouts as soon as I get home or...I have to log my workouts as soon as I get home or they are lost to me! In fact, first practice of the season this week I kept losing count. (I blame drill sets. So busy focussing on what I'm doing, I can't count. Plus going third person touches first goes messes with my clock reliance.)

Childhood experiences don't let go easily. (And they can come back to bite you when you least expect it.)Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07300094483282054900noreply@blogger.com
