Mid-week catch-up

Addressing sore foot by having a week off from running, which I find traumatic but sensible (it is already feeling better after 2 days with only modest walking and no running). Monday was travel day (alarm for 2:30am, yes that is early); Tuesday, 30 mins sea swim plus PT; Wednesday, 30 mins sea swim with many thimble jellies and a scraped-up exit where I was briefly stuck on ironshore (limestone karst), yuck. Will be more careful tomorrow!

1hr as 1:1. Sore R foot, grudgingly admitting that I'd better actually do something about it when I get back to Cayman - I don't think I can leave it till September....

Should have been 90 but only managed 70, didn't eke out enough distance in town (there isn't a safe out and back option). 1:1 WU/CD and 40 as 7:1 in the middle. Hanging on by my fingernails, desperate to be "home"!

1hr as 1:1, weather very beautiful again, only realized when I opened my computer to log post-run that David had actually given me a "real" Wednesday workout! Which I will now do tomorrow.... (And a longer one on Saturday too, that's nice!)

Haven't missed a run (yet). Friday was a travel and non-run day. Saturday, Sunday both had 1hr as 1:1 jog-walk easy and early. Monday was non-run day (and memorial service, all went well). Tuesday, beautiful morning, not too hot, low humidity, breezy: a more relaxed 1:1. Spending quiet morning in the hotel room doing laundry in the basement machines and not too much else.

Good run, though I slightly overdid it - log just said "20 easy" for WU and CD, I was pretty sure it didn't mean continuous but not totally, so I compromised on 4:1 - 1:1 prob smarter. 1:15 total: 20 as 4:1, 3-4-5-4-3 minutes faster with 3 minutes walking recovery, 20 as 4:1.

And 8:45 flow-meditation yoga with Iliana at Bliss, highly worthwhile choice....

75 minutes with 30 as 1:1 jog-walk, 30 as 5:1, 15 as 1:1. No yoga I think, the idea of being so hot and sweaty again so soon after the first round of it just isn't appealing!

2 x 15min walk to and from hot yoga. Was worried beforehand about heat, but really I have good enough acclimation by July from running outside. I have had a few pretty grisly ones where I have come from NYC to Cayman in winter, haven't been doing yoga at all (hot or otherwise) and have zero heat acclimation, that first class is truly gruesome! But the 6am is always a good bet for not-quite-as-hot, so all round, it was fine....

The movie was at 1:30 rather than 1, so yes I did get to go to noon yin!

Friday-Saturday catchup

Friday: 1hr as 1:1
Saturday: nice 90 mins as 30 1:1, 40 9:1, 20 1:1. Back gets quickly v tight and increasingly sore over the longer interval, but short of what I would call actively painful. Making a commitment to get back on the daily PT, I really fell off it over the last five weeks, no longer.

No opportunity for yoga yesterday or today but I will try and go tomorrow, I need to pack a lot of it in!

YOGA! (this was Thursday)

Very good hour of flow + meditation at Bliss. Signed on for unlimited July and August, they have a good deal (and will pause my existing classes so that I can use them when I'm here in the winter). Really missed it this last month, it definitely has to be the other-than-running priority in my exercise life (plus a bit of swimming if I can manage it).

Was very frenetic in the days before getting myself out of NYC, don't seem to have blogged, but didn't miss a run.

Sunday: 1hr as 1:1
Monday: rest
Tuesday: evening 1hr as 1:1 after crazy day of too many other things, felt proud of myself for getting out there for this one
Wednesday: early travel
Thursday: early Cayman run! about 1:05, 20 as 1:1 to open and close, then primes: 1 faster, 2 walking recovery, 2/2, 3/2, 5/2, 7/2.
