The effects of the Nike+ tracking system and the data-driven revolution in running (via Tara Parker-Pope).

It definitely is not just a running issue.

Those of us who bike with power are even worse. After every ride I race in to download my data from my PowerTap into WKO+ so I can see my IF, VI, and TSS numbers. And of course my Garmin data from my runs go into the program as well.

And of course I analyze the data by the week and month, and estimate what the numbers will be a month out on my next race date.

And it always pains me that the best I can do for swimming and weightlifting data is enter an estimate. I want precision!

Interesting article. I have yet to really embrace technology in my training but do enjoy occasionally seeing speed and HRM info after a run, not during, though. I'm a running luddite, it seems!
