Postscript

Alas, the site I have used for the last couple years for logging training data had a double server failure a few weeks ago that led to all data being lost. I've been waiting to see if they'd be able to do a system restore of some kind, but it looks as though that's not going to be a possibility. I didn't keep a backup on my own system, so that's pretty much gone, though obviously my blog provides a very thorough though verbose record! I'm of two minds about whether to set up again on this site (it's served me pretty well, and it's my own fault for not backing up data elsewhere) or whether to try something different. Any strong opinions in favor of another site?

No, but what a bummer.

I'm so sorry to hear that! They should be backing up that kind of customer information!

My sport watch and bike computer are both from Garmin, so I have all my info on Garmin Connect. I also get all my training plan schedules from my coach through Training Peaks and have been pretty happy with it so far. It has been almost a 1.5 years now.

Just because your training data is gone, doesn't mean that the training is gone from your body!

Less than 7 weeks to go! I wish I was getting the heat training you are! I am getting the absolute opposite since Seattle is on March #3.

It's a minor inconvenience, I should have been backing it up myself but I am not much of a data fiend! I have the past year's bikes and runs on the Garmin Connect site already - might be that I will poke around there and see whether I think it will suit me. Training Peaks is a good idea.

I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW SOON THIS RACE IS! I was just making up my last chunk of training schedule (I'm adapting it from Gale Bernhardt's 13-week IM training plan), it is pretty amazing! Got plane tickets this afternoon, have just been sorting out details about other arrangements - I hope I will get to meet both of you before the race!

It's inexcusable for them to have lost that data.
